Information You Provide Directly:
- Resume Data: When you upload your resume, we extract and process your career history, job titles, companies, and years of experience using AI.
- Profile Information: Current salary, job title, hours per week, years of experience, and company size.
- Job Offer Details: Salary, equity, bonus, company information, and other offer details you input.
- Email Address: When you request to save or receive analysis via email.
- Preferences: Your priority rankings (salary, work-life balance, growth, stability, remote work, brand).
Information Collected Automatically:
- Browser Data: Device type, operating system, browser type, IP address (anonymized).
- Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent, features used, and analysis history.
- Cookies: We use local storage to save your analyses and preferences on your device.

- To generate AI-powered recommendations personalized to your career profile.

4. Data Storage & Security
🔒 Your Data Protection:
- Your profile (including your resume text) and your My Jobs board are saved in your own browser, so you don't have to re-enter them. They are not sent to our servers except when you run a screen or fit report. You can delete the saved profile at any time with "Forget my profile", or by clearing your browser data.
- If you use ScreenJob without an account, your analysis history is stored only in your browser.
- If you sign in, your email address and your analyses (job details, your profile answers and the AI's results) are stored in our database so you can see them on any device. Your resume text is sent to our AI provider to produce the analysis but is not saved in your history.
- Resume files are read in your browser; only the extracted text is sent for analysis, and the file itself is never uploaded.
- We use Google's paid Gemini API service. Under Google's terms for paid services, Google does not use your resume, job postings or the AI's answers to train or improve its products.
- Purchases made without an account are saved in your browser. If you ask us to restore a purchase by email, we use the email you gave at checkout only to find your purchase in Stripe and send you the restore link.
- When you share a screen, the share link contains that screen's results (job title, salary check, red flags, good signs and must-haves; the company name only if you choose to include it). It does not include the posting text, your resume or your profile, and it isn't stored on our servers.
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal data to third parties.
- Share your resume or salary information with employers.
- Use your data for targeted advertising.
- Store your data without your explicit consent.
5. Third-Party Services
ScreenJob uses the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini API (paid service): For AI-powered analysis. Your data is processed according to Google's Gemini API terms for paid services, which do not allow Google to use it to improve its products.
- Vercel: For hosting. Your data is hosted securely on Vercel's servers according to their privacy terms.
- Supabase: For sign-in and for storing account data and saved analyses.
- Stripe: For payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Resend: To deliver analysis emails and purchase-restore links you ask us to send.
- Formspree: To receive mailing-list signups and feedback you submit.
- U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: We look up public salary data by job title. Only the job title is used; no personal information is sent.
- Google Analytics: For anonymized usage statistics.
We do not share personal information with these services except as necessary to provide the service.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your data (clear browser storage).
- Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications.
- Right to Portability: Export your analyses and data.

7. Data Retention
- Local Storage: Data stored in your browser remains until you clear your cache/history.
- Account Data: Your account and saved analyses are kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Email Addresses: Retained for up to 12 months unless deleted sooner.
- Analytics Data: Anonymized usage data may be retained for up to 24 months.
8. Children's Privacy
ScreenJob is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we've collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of ScreenJob constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
